Daily Schedule

The preschool opens at 7 am, Monday through Friday. Our morning session begins at 8:30 am and ends at 11:50 am.  We do not provide lunch at our school.  If your child is coming for half days and will not be staying for lunch, they should be picked up by 11:50 am.  If your child brings a lunch, they should be picked up by 12:30 pm.  You are welcome to pack your child's lunch with whatever you think they will eat.  Please do not send candy or soda.  We have microwaves so we are able to heat items that are in microwaveable safe containers.

 

A full day session is offered for parents who work or desire a longer period of pre-school exposure for their child.  A child attending the full day session may arrive anytime between 7 am and 8:30 am.  It is considered a full day if your child is picked up anytime after 12:30 pm.  Please be prompt picking up your child as a late fee of $30 per 15 mins. will be charged for late pick up after the half day session as well as the full day session. 

Tentative Schedule of Daily Activities

  • 7:00 am  Open.  Breakfast may be brought in until 7:30 am.  Children's choice: Table activities, blocks, drawing, coloring: preparation for morning session

 

  • 7:45 am  Clean up time. Children are responsible for putting away their own toys, etc.

 

  • 7:50 am  Early Circle Time: Singing, dancing, rhythm activities, sight words, Spanish words, etc.

 

  • 8:20 am  Outdoor Play

 

  • 8:30 am  Morning/half day session begins

 

  • 9:00 am  Opening activities: Discuss calendar, weather, and day's special activities.

 

  • 9:15 am  Morning projects including perceptual motor activities, art, cooking, creative play, role playing, and puppetry.

 

  • 10:00 am  Morning snack time (school provides)

 

  • 10:15 am  Learning activities, including reading and math skills readiness, science projects, simple Spanish words, special units of study and self-sufficiency.

 

  • 10:30 am-12 pm   Outdoor Play: Two groups at a time will have a scheduled outside play time for 20 minutes. Free choice and/or planned physical activities.

 

  • 11:45 am  Music and Movement. Morning session ends and lunch preparation begins.

 

  • 12:00 pm  Lunch. After lunch, children go outside if weather permits.  Free play.

 

  • 12:45 pm  Story time, quiet rest or nap

 

  • 2:45 pm  Children are woken up and taken to the restroom

 

  • 3:15 pm  Afternoon snack.  (school provides)

 

  • 3:30 pm  Outside play or vigorous indoor games.

 

  • 4:15 pm  Afternoon projects: Learning activities, stories, music, art, and/or circle games.

 

  • 5:15 pm  Free choice. Calming down time. Table activities or floor games, a small snack, and clean up.

 

  • 5:30  pm  Close. All children must be called for by 5:30 pm.

 

 

 

Schedule may vary from day to day to create a changing and exciting environment.
